Cats and Dogs – What They Eat and How They Live What They Eat: Leave a comment

Cats are obligate carnivores, which means they need meat to survive. They eat:
Meat (like chicken, fish, beef)
Special cat food (wet or dry) that contains taurine, a vital nutrient
Small amounts of treats (never chocolate, onions, or garlic – these are toxic)
Dogs are omnivores, so they can eat both meat and plants. They eat:
Dog food (wet or dry) with meat, grains, and vegetables
Cooked meat, rice, carrots, pumpkin (in small, safe amounts)
Treats made for dogs (never grapes, chocolate, or bones that can splinter)
How They Live:
Cats:
Love quiet places and often sleep 12–16 hours a day
Like to climb, scratch, and explore
Can live indoors, outdoors, or both (but indoor cats are safer)
Need a litter box, scratching post, and toys
Dogs:
Need daily walks, playtime, and training
Like to be around people and get bored when left alone too long
Sleep around 12–14 hours a day but are active when awake
Need space, regular exercise, and social interaction
Lifespan:
Cats usually live 12 to 18 years, some up to 20+
Dogs live around 10 to 15 years, depending on the breed
